Sale 259 offers 3,000+ lots with estimates of almost A$2,500,000. Australia features Colonies through essays for the first Commonwealth issue to Decimal missing colours & perforation errors, plus the balance of Andrew Johnston’s extensive KGV Heads collections. Pacific Islands feature GRI Overprints including rare errors, Nauru, Fiji, Tonga, Samoa and New Zealand. Highlight sections include Gerald Fon’s Kangaroos, Vera Bentley’s Western Australia postmarks, Jerry Blair’s Papua, and John Gibson's New Hebrides & Solomon Islands (the latter three featuring extensive postal history in addition to the stamps & errors), as well as many other fine single stamps, small groups and our usual range of collections & accumulations. Day 4 is devoted to Militaria, Coins & Banknotes featuring a complete set of the so-called Proclamation Coins, followed by Sporting Memorabilia, Cigarette & Trade Cards (including rare early issues a few from American tobacco firms) and General Collectables.
